Apple 3.5 Controller (aka the 'Liron' card)
3.5" Recording Method: GCR -- Capacities: SSDD, DSDD - 400K, 800K
The Liron card has an IWM (342-0041) chip in the middle of the card and is labeled "Liron" on the back side. This is the original 3.5" card, also known as the Apple SmartPort card, it is the //c SmartPort on a card and can control external SmartPort hard disks such as the ProAPP, Quark QC-10, Chinook/Squential Systems external //c Hard Drive.

Apple SuperDrive Controller
3.5" Recording Method: GCR -- Capacities: DSDD, DSHD - 400K, 800K. 3.5" Recording Method: MFM -- Capacities: DSDD, DSHD - 720K, 1.44MB.
This is a 3.5" drive controller card made by Apple Computer that can be used with an Enhanced Apple //e or IIgs to use an Apple FDHD (1.44M) drive or other compatible high density drive. The initial shipments of the SuperDrive controller are/were titled the 'Apple 3.5" drive controller, this was renamed to the SuperDrive controller to avoid confusion with the earlier product
The SuperDrive controller does require a min. of an Apple //e Enhanced.
It will also work with any daisy-chainable 3.5" drive that is capable of plugging into the floppy port on the IIgs or Mac. Such drives are:

UDC / Universal Disk Controller
5.25" Recording Method: GCR -- Capacities: SSDD - 140K, 160K. 3.5" Recording Method: GCR -- Capacities: DSDD - 400K, 800K.
The UDC is manufactured by Video Technology and was also marketed by Central Point. It is an 800K generic type controller that can do every Double Density (or compatible- IE, SuperDrive as 800K) drive that Apple made with ONE exception. The UniDisk 3.5" is NOT compatible with this card. DO NOT ATTACH THE UNIDISK 3.5" to this card. You will KILL both your drive and this card. You have been warned.
Apple II Universal Controller
5.25" Recording Method: GCR -- Capacities: SSDD - 140K, 160K. 3.5" Recording Method: GCR -- Capacities: DSDD - 400K, 800K.
The Apple II Universal Controller, not to be confused with the Video Technology UDC card is equivalent to the Apple IIc Plus SmartPort, where as the Liron card is the Apple //c SmartPort. The Universal Controller is compatible with everything that the IIc Plus and IIgs are. It is a Double Density controller based on the IWM, 342-0041/B as the //c, IIc Plus and IIgs have on board. This card is horrendously rare, if that word is ever appropriate, it is here.
Blue Disk
3.5" Recording Method: MFM -- Capacities: SSDD, DSDD, DSHD, DSED - 720K, 800K, 1.44MB, 1.6MB, 2.88MB 5.25" Recording Method: MFM -- Capacities: DSDD, DSHD - 360K, 1.2MB
The Blue Disk Controller is an Apple II MFM, 34 pin drive controller. Compatible drives are those that are typically found in x86 hardware. The Blue Disk can do 5.25 and 3.5 drives, DSDD and DSHD. 5.25 Disks from the Blue Disk should be considered NOT COMPATIBLE with anything else. 3.5 Double Density disks are compatible with the SuperDrive controller and AE PC Transporter only. 3.5" High Density disks are compatible where ever Apple II's can deal with high density formats.
The Blue Disk does 800K in MFM mode. These disks ARE NOT COMPATIBLE WITH ANYTHING ELSE. BlueDisk 800K is for convienence only, as you may be accustomed to 800K worth of storage when working with Apple II 3.5" disks.
Urphi Controller
3.5" Recording Method: MFM -- Capacities: SSDD, DSDD, DSHD - 720K, 800K, 1.44MB 5.25" Recording Method: MFM -- Capacities: DSDD, DSHD - 360K, 1.2MB 5.25" Recording Method: GCR -- Capacities: SSDD - 140K, 160K.
The Urphi controller is manufactured by Urphi Electronics and is similar to the Blue Disk but it is only for double density drives. 360K, 720K. The Urphi controller also has two Apple 20 pin connectors. The Urphi card is compatible with the Disk ][ Controller as well as MFM double density drives.
